Load up a small aircraft as much as you can and try to take off safely. There are passengers and cargo to load onto the plane and terrain and obstacles to avoid during take off. The more weight you load onto the plane, the worse it will perform. You'll have to take off from runways, aircraft carriers, over volcanoes, and over other obstacles. Headwinds, tailwinds, the height of obstacles, and heat all play a part in how much weight you can carry safely without crashing. As the pilot it is your job to work out the maximum you can carry safely.
